This is a more mature blossom, although in this one I am still arguing with the camera on how to get a good picture LOL :(

put the plant outside for the pic, or use the flash :) (see slipperking s comment) ! I would be interested to see this cool flower!!! Jean
 
How pretty! If you have auto focus, it looks like it's trying to focus on the wall. Try a dark background as Slipperking suggested. :D
 
It was my first blossom of any orchid kind. I resisted the notion of taking it outside. The next time it blooms I will take it outside and use a dark background. Yes, the camera has a macro function and I can toggle the flash on/off. It is a HP Photosmart 935. I have even considered resurrecting my ancient Canon AE-1 film SLR system. But the expense of film and processing and the long delay. Maybe Santa will bring me something like a Canon Rebel, with "real" optics. Half the fun in growing something pretty is to share it. Right?

i have a 817 with macro and am very happy with it. i just need to spent some time and try to take some good pictures.
