A first time bloomer with a single 11 inch growth. Hope to show you another one or two in the near future. This flower also has a slight fragrance to it.

Normally, I don't care for green flowers, but this one is an
exception. I don't understand such a tall stem either. Seems like it would be so easy to break and I'd sure break it if it was mine. I'm glad you didn't!

Dot, from Fowlie's articles in OD malipo and probably jackii are found hidden in very tall grasses/ shrubs. Also in dark crevices of rocks.

I wonder why these stems need to be so tall.

It lives in it's natural habitat on limestone cliffs and I think the long stem is necessary to keep the bloom above gras or small bushes.

And the high polar moment of the bloom would help it fall off the cliff in high winds! :evil:
