So I broke down and went out and took some pics.
This is Paph Mrs Colburn (druyii X glaucophyllum).
the first pic is the first flower that came up in the winter, notice the color diff. darker.

AS you can see the plant had a battle with mealys, they messed up the leaves pretty good, its a crying shame.

Interesting colour differenciation!!! Amazing both of colour forms!!! Don't feel sorry for the plant, unless there is still the mealies problem! So a mottled-leaved multi...:p :poke:

Very beautiful! A fav of mine. I have two and one is in bud. Hope it is as nice!

From what I understand this is a old school cross.

Ernie I think its going to be a little while because theres alot of flowers to come on this plant.

Wow, that's one big plant!

Looks like this cross is blooming quite consistent, mine looks just as yours. I'll post a pic shortly. This is one of my fav primaries, I like those mahagony-red, shiny petals in particular. McPaph, how large is the flower? Mine are much on the druryi-side.

Last year I put pollen of anitum on one flower, the pod took but I haven't heard back from the lab yet.

Best wishes,

I've know of this cross for years but as you say, it's old school. I didn't think anyone would have this plant in today's collection! It's fantastic and well worth having. As hybridizers make more and more complicated crosses and the old ones get lost to history,it's nice to go "backwards" to something "refreshingly new"!

Very Nice!! I have never seen that one before either. Next time our druryi bloom, I will make remake this cross and make some other crosses with cochlopetalums. I love the colors and the shape of this hybrid, so I think there is potential for other crosses. Thanks for giving me an idea....
