Won't win any flower quality awards but maybe on a future blooming. Note: forth pic has too much purple in it.
This plant bloomed once before for the previous owner. That growth is completely gone. About two years ago a northeast orchid society sold off a deceased member's collection. I bought 3 plants, this was one of them. How many growths? Is this the first blooming?
Which brings me to the to your question David. Unfortunately, I do not know. The previous owner only had "Prince Edward of York" on his tag.Very nice. It is hard to beat a good PEOY. I'm finding mine very slow as well. What are the parents of this Rick?
I'm sure it has a lot to do with the new Canon I recently bought and still have a lot to learn. That's why I have too much purple/pink in the one pic...wrong setting.Wow, Rick -- not only are you an excellent slipper-grower, you have become an excellent photographer!

What a grand picture they make with all the blooms open. The solid pouch colour is even more obvious, and the sandy dorsal much improved in the hybrid. Well done, a plant to be proud of IMO!
