Here's a couple of pics to show the growth potential of this species.
I've had this plant since 4/03 and it had 3 or so growths when I got it from Andys

There are presently 11 growths in this pot and the two flowering growths have leaf spans of 12 and 15 inches. The flower is the 14th from that spike and the older spike (in bud still) is on its 16th. I recently just cut off an old spike that finally quit after 15 or so flowers.

I have this paph bought as a victoria-regina, but I think it may be primulinum var. purpurascens. The plant is small (pot size is just 3 inches) and the plant does not seem to want to grow any bigger (leafspan, I mean). The undersides of the leaves (near the leaf-bases only) are speckled with reddish purple.. Can anyone help ID it? Thanks... :)

Victoria-regina (or chamberlainianum) as we know it today has a purple flush, but not spotted like for primulinum var purpurescens, and it gets much, much larger than primulinum.

However in 1976 Woods named primulinum var purpurescens, "victoria-regina var primulinum forma purpurascens".

So by the 1976 Wood's name that plant is correctly named.:sob:
