Not a hybrid, but a species from Sulawesi. Some consider it a variety of lowii, others consider it a valid species.

That is great Rick! I have been waiting for mine to flower for a few years now. It does not seem to want to grow either, any pointers on its culture?
Very pleasing colour, especially the dorsal, lots of rose in there.

Congratulations.

Richardianum is not an hybrid for sure.
Maybe a specie or a var. of lowii. Don't know that.

It's really a lovely specie. Smaller but as desirable as lowii for me.
It can bloom with 5 flowers.

A nice bloom there. Some really nice colours in there and that long stem. Be nice with that on my philippinense!!:)

I know Rick is also been a low K user for a couple years now.

Can't speak for Rick's plants, but mine also sat around hating life for years, but since baskets and low K really took off. Just got a second growth on one.

Rick save me pollen in case I get blooms this season:clap:

Hi guys. I've been growing it like lowii or haynaldianum in #5+ Orchiata bark mixed with clay balls. Lots of water but no compacting of the mix because of the size. The plant structure is very much like haynaldianum though it does look more lowii.
Even though it has been on a very lean diet of ~10ppm N (Klite) it still shows a bit of leaf tip burn. You might be able to see on the first PIC. My winter lows were closer to 50 F but I don't think temps are a blooming factor.
The petal tips have rolled/reflex back more today. Really pretty neat.
One other tid-bit of info, this is the plant with the funky flower bud sprouting from the base of the stem. As you can see, the bud fell out but the ovary is still there.

I like it Rick. My little seedling seems to have much thicker/succulent type leaves than lowii. Do you notice this in yours?
