Paph rothschildianum 'Tarantula'?

Can anyone confirm that the first flower is roth 'Tarantula'? It is very dark.

I read this as Tarantula X Nikko Shogun. The latter being a sibling of Tarantula.

You are right. I thought the first photo was a different plant from the 2nd but on closer inspection they are the same. I didn't think it looked like Tarantula. It is a nice dark outcome though.

I don't know if I can afford it. I got a nice Tarantula seedling off Brad a week or so back. It is crossed with Black Diamond. The photo Brad sent me of Black Diamond showed it to be extremely dark, so the cross could potentially result in something like the Tarantula X Nikko Shogun seedling.


This Rex x Tarantula seedling is nice. Best of both parents I think.
