Paph. Valerie Tonkin x Ice Castle

Here's one of the plants that I bought in the show. It's got flaws but since it's a first-bloom, I am hoping for a better one next time it flowers. I like the color and it's big, around 12-13 cm NS. Do u guys think it has potential? Thanks

Definitely worth blooming it several times to evaluate it. It is pleasant enough to look at now, so if you don't mind watering it, give it a couple more bloomings to see what it can really do.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys! Hehe. It has a new growth that should be ready in the next flowering season. so Let's hope for a better Russ Palmer bloom! Lol

None of those flaws seem insurmountable. Some flaws are permanent...but yours seem like the type that can vary and probably disappear in later bloomings...but if not, they aren't so bad that you can't enjoy the flower...even if it never improves, its still a great bloom.

It's the Toronto Artistic Orchid Association Orchid Show. Usually second week of April. They have great plants on display every year. I'll post pics tonight on another thread.
