I’ve always considered this Paph. venustum ‘album’ but I’ve noticed that it has black spots on the petals. Is there a more appropriate varietal name?

Petals are normally not this heavily reflexed.
 
I have seen a few with random spots. As far as reflexed parts go, albas are commonly challenged form wise. Maybe not as bad as yours but it happens.
Sadly not every flower is gorgeous. Some do howl at the moon.
 
Don, that is very nice! I have two venustum album from two different breeders and I hope I'll get one with some yellow color and black spots...
 
Love it. Reflexed petals are proper for P. venustem. The flower is saying, “HERE I AM!”
It is a matter of personal taste IMO. I prefer a flat flower for this species.
It is acceptable as long as the petals don't pull back like this one:
