Paph. Weltz Ballad is bellatulum x adductum. I remade this cross years ago, based on a picture that I saw. This one turned out exactly what I was hoping for:

that is a wonderful cross! Will any be for sale?

Actually we have had this cross for a while, and this is one of the few that is left, so to answer your question, no we don't have anymore for sale :sob:

Here is one that bloomed 2 years ago. The individual flowers were not as nice (they had color brakes and some of the flowers were misshapen), but it shows the potential of this cross:

What would you use for the next step to improve presentation? An alba phil or a Lady Isabel---or would that dilute the red too much, producing something like the Paph. Lady Isabel x Godefroyae at http://www.monbebebull.com/subpage10.html ?

I would go two different directions; either back onto a good brachy, like a good round leuchochilum or a complex brachy to round out the petals, or like you said onto a multifloral. I would either put it onto a rothschildianum, or a roth hybrid (like Saint Swithin or Lady Isabel), or something that has anitum in its background (anitum x philippinense or anitum x rothschildianum).
