If so, it's very much possible that this kind of flower can result from such breeding.

Well, while the leaves also look pretty much like "straight" Maudiae hybrid, I wouldn't doubt it has 25% bulldog in it as the tag says.

I've had a bull dog x Maudiae cross ( half & half ) and the flower was heavily Maudiae ( although you could see bulldog influence) and the leaves were mottled.

This is 75 Maudiae type 25 bulldog. And the random mix of genetics can bring out lots of different possibilities.

I totally agree. The flower is stunning, esp. the color. I have no doubt that there could be an invisible Winston Churchill in its ancestors but I would have loved to see it in this Paph.

It is not a case of doubting the label, especially on a single clone, rather surprise that Winston is not evident at all.
