An older award to the natural hybrid between Paph. malipoense and Paph. micranthum. The man-made Paph. Fanaticum using select parents, has darker petal markings.
I think that is quite special, and even more so as an example of the natural hybrid rather than the man-made version. Have you done any breeding with this?
We have yet to breed this plant successfully; it's a slow grower and I'm reluctant to use it as a capsule parent. I tried using the pollen on several occasions, but was unable to get a viable seed pod. In answer to a previous question, it has a faint fragrance of raspberries on a sunny morning; not over-powering, but pleasant.
Nice markings on the petals, very colorful staminode, and more pink suffusion on the pouch than what I'm used to seeing on a Fanaticum. Overall, what a beauty, Tom.
