It was from Burnham Nurseries, UK. I got as near flowering size.

I've been looking over the descriptions at e-monocot, It could well be P. appletonianum.

Your hint points towards an apple

Just wanted to comment, Today I cut the spike off as it was starting to look a little tired.

It's been in flower since 26 of March! Almost two months in flower =D
