(Paph. Thunder Doll ‘Dark Side’ x Paph. Blockbuster ‘Big News’)

First time blooming for this single growth plant. I was hoping for more yellow influence and black spotting on petals and pouch (as seen in some siblings), but it seems to have taken more after its heavy red pod parent. But it’s still lovely, and I’m pleased it was eager to bloom after arriving only 4 months ago. Hopefully the color as well as flower stem length will improve in future blooms.

Still quite a pleasing flower and nice looking plant. Does take after the thunder doll. Although the blockbuster has an interesting Sporting pattern, its form is worse so the thunder doll as the pod parent might not be the worst thing
