It is Paphiopedilum godefroyae 'Black Hat' x 'Emily' AM/AOS, which I got from Orchids by Hausermann. I've been "growing" it for 7 years, and this is the first bloom. I think my condition isn't warm enough, so it has been somewhat struggling.

Well done naoki. I have one in bud at the moment too. What is the min temp it experiences? I would strongly suggest you remove the flower now and try to get a new growth start before the weather cools down. That yellow leaf is a warning sign that the plant is about to go backwards...be careful! Also not crazy about what it's growing in!?

Sweet, congratulation for your 1st blooming .
I love it when the vendor gives you tag with both parents' names .
It is very hard to resist this species.
I recommend the cross "Gold Fish" x "No.1", it seems that this cross available widely now and the result plants are quite beautiful

Thank you for the recommendation, Hien.

Mike, yes, I already cut it. In the summer it is 28/18C (max/min), in the winter 21/15C. Since it is in the basement, it doesn't have too much seasonality. I'm guessing that warm temp in the day isn't enough in general. It grows well for a while, but it moves backward eventually, and it has been repeating this cycle for a while. It seems to grow better close to the time when I have to repot. It's been more than 3 years, and I probably need to repot. I think you were experimenting Dr Tanaka's no-repotting method for Brachy. How did it go? Others like P. niveum, P. thaianum (and P. delenatii) don't do too well in this tent. P. concolor and P. bellatulum did much better.

Yes I have been experimenting a bit but I still don't have many brachys large enough to go into their ''permanent'' pots. I have a multi-growth niveum which has only been repotted once and it's doing very nicely. The thaianums which came out of the flask 2 1/2 years ago are still in the same compot and they are powering away. 2 have already flowered. I will probably pot individually this summer.
