I saw this lowii at PaphParadise display in Montreal OrchidExpo show and bought it right away.

Does anyone know why I did?

Any suggestions for a cultivar name?

Leslie, does your photo the red colour picture as real as it is in the flower and is there these red pigmentation in the centre? If so, I think these are the reasons why you bought it.

It’s a little more red from the incandescent bulbs… but it is one of the reason but not the main one.

The tender wings of desire. To me it sounds lovely and poetic and yet reminiscent of KFC. Maybe I am just hungry

Oh that is a great clonal name! I can just picture birds in flight with that petal stance. They look undulating, like they are waving in flight. The pouch is nicely colored, spotting seems very clear and concise. But I like the dorsal the most!!
An extremely nice example of the species.
