Hakone's friend is from Singaraja as quoted above, a town on the northern part of Bali. "Gunung Agung" means Mount Agung, an active volcanic mountain in Bali.
I agree with you. Mr Hakone confuses the rules of Nomenclature. Any forma or Variety must be described in a recognisable orchid journal and should show some differences in its structural attributes. He can give it a clonal name (with a '--------') which belongs to this particular plant. Paph mocquetteanum's habitat stretched from Bali to west Java. And I wonder why he was so secretive where the plant came from, when asked.
