I love a good primary hybrid and since I failed miserably the one time I attempted to grow sangii, I thought this would be at least some consolation. The flower doesn’t have the intriguing shape of sangii, but at least it is easier to grow and the coloring is very good.

It actually has the pouch of sangii. The petals were pulled up by the other parent but imagine it down like sangii.

Agreed. Sangii can definitely come through in this hybrid. The dorsal is taller than it is wide, the colors are richer than most venustum and the lower edge of the petals twist backward a bit.

Be glad; yours is by far the best of this cross I've seen. They usually suck.

I have this primary. I’ll be delighted if mine blooms out as well as this one! Very pretty!
