The plant was from the late Popow, sr., wrongly named 'var. annamense'.
This leads me to believe, that it was a plant - and mislabeling, that he might have gotten from Sam Tsui, who has like plants on sale with the epithet 'fma. amnamense' (sic!): Paph. villosum x sib (fma. amnamense 'OI' x 'Grand Finale' AM/AOS)

That is a very nice one! Is it fully open yet? What gave it the varietal name?
Got one here in bloom now also...Mine is labeled as straight P. villosum and the flower looks very much like yours...Mine came from Marriott Orchids back in 2005....can't believe it has been that long.

It has been open only for a couple of days...I guess, the next week or two might add a bit to the size of the flower.
The variety was described in the magazine of the German Orchid Society (Deutsche Orchideen Gesellschaft), 'Die Orchidee' 4 (15), 2018, by Tuan, Hai, Gruß and Canh (the latter two known here on STC as respectively 'ORG' and 'cxchan'). It's a very thorough article with a nice overview over different varieties of P. villosum - unfortunately with the full text in German only, though with an English abstract.
