I think I met them at MANTS and asked. Orchids (calopogons, platanthera, etc) aren’t used usually in restoration projects, so they don’t produce them.

I read an article about them a couple months back. That whole area (Ottsville, PA) has become a home to some really nice “back to the earth” nurseries, alas, not orchid nurseries.

At the PF, Peter Zale of Longwood Gardens mentioned that Greg Griffis left to take a job at the Eric Young Foundation (Greg got his start at PON before moving to Longwood).

At the PF, Peter Zale of Longwood Gardens mentioned that Greg Griffis left to take a job at the Eric Young Foundation (Greg got his start at PON before moving to Longwood).

Greg was a “kid up the block” on my street in PA. If I’m not mistaken, he started his orchid journey at Parkside, then did a stint with Hilo Orchid Farm (he used to cherry pick plants for Parkside) before coming home to Longwood.

Now that he’s off to EYOF, adding to his excellent experience, I am hopeful he’ll become a big influence on the orchid world in the future.
