I bought this from carolina orchids a few years ago when they were at our orchid society. I've been buying this species with the hopes that I will finally find a nice one that looks like the regular species, and is fragrant. A few i've had were labeled var purpurea and had less, though nice, flowers but none have ever been fragrant. This was open when I got home, and this morning I tried smelling it and though my sinuses aren't very clear I think I can detect a light fragrance! my next hurdle will be to clear out my head so that I can truly tell if there is a fragrance or not
