Hey I got this one from him too! Happy to see what it will look like- it is very cute, and does take after bessae. It's one of my sheaths that didn't make it through the recent thrips struggle, sigh.
 
I don't see a whole lot more then plain besseae, not that that is a bad thing.

Have you looked into the settings on your phone? My I-phone 11 has all kinds of adjustments or settings when it comes to photographs. You may be able to pump up the saturation on your images. But not too much. Anyway, you could play around with that.

I need to experiment more with it- mostly I think it’s the fact that it’s frequently not the best time of day/lighting when I get a chance to photograph.

So sorry to hear. I think several of us got thrips from the same source. They did some damage for sure.
