Phrag besseae is my favorite species (tied with Paph micranthum) so its always fun when the first flowers of the year start to open for me. This particular grex has been getting better each season but had a slight issue this year. Too bad. Still love it though.

Its small and color break in the pouch. The temps in the GH have been all over the place this fall and winter so issues like this are no real surprise.

if you are referring to the lighter color right in the front of the pouch, i would have called that a coalescence of the fenestration more than a color break (and mainly typing this here to get educated by folks smarter than me )

looks like a nice flower to me .... fenestrations r' us ... love that!

has it flowered with a flatter dorsal in the past? or is it maybe still stretching?
