Wow! Excited to see this. I got your last seedling last time around (and I’ve managed to keep it alive) with a new growth starting. Deeper color than my besseae flavum ‘Broadwaters’ division, which I like for the sake of variation.

Tom, mine finally bloomed! I think I got your last seedling from this selfing in June of 2020! I'm very pleased. I tried to kill it, but it survived! My comment above about the 'Broadwaters' division is interesting. It bloomed once, then I killed it!! Now I do have a nice selfing of it, though, that is growing well. This one really struggled until I figured out to keep it cooler (75) and grow it in it's own saucer of water (after it's thoroughly watered and drained). It is striking!

So what’s the trick for keeping them cool in heatwaves? I’ve bloomed nice besseae, including a precious flavum from Tom, but then they just… melt away in the heat.

I grow them indoors under lights in a cool basement never above 74 F.

They grew well on a windowsill (East), but needed more light. You could probably do it on a S or W. Temps are ambient room temp.
