Seeing all these great pics only reinforces what I've said about the species Phrags beating out all the hybrids.

I agree this photo is the closest to reality as it shows the greenish cast to 'Green Gold's color better than any of the others. One of the problems I think is I'm still using an old Nikon 1.3 mp camera that should have been retired years ago. Time to upgrade :wink:
 
Tom, your picture was not a bad one. And even a brand new camera can take pics with "wrong" colors.

It was rather easy to adjust your picture in Photoshop.... since there was a white plastic label to help me. Since I am lazy about white balance settings before shooting, I often use that trick! Not perfect, but it help me a lot.
 
It's not the camera that got the color wrong, it's me. And I don't have Photoshop.:poke:
 
Can anyone comment on the mechanism by which variations in the recessive "yellow color" come about for besseae? Is it known how many genes might be involved? Thanks! The results of this cross may be a really interesting...
