I have a question. I have 2 besseae (haven x smokin) and one of them has bloomed for me and I didn't (like a silly) get picture, but my bess was a vivid red color of besseaes. No peachy color at all. I didn't get mine fom Piping Rocks but there is a picture of one on their website like mine. Are there a lot of different colors of this bess?

No, this one is in straight orchiata and I keep the saucer half full with rainwater most of the time.

Based on your feedback and Eric's it could be that these were mislabeled. I bought a 3 pack of these peach colored bess's from OZ on eBay and this is how this one was labelled. They ship out of pot so I could see how tags might get mixed up?
I know someone (abax) who would trade you if you want a red one!
Holy round petals Batman! How big is the flower?
Maybe John will chime in on the labeling? Got to imagine that there is a good amount of color variation on some of these.

I'd love to have one that color.
Here's a photo of our clone of Phrag. besseae ('Haven' x 'Smokin'). The plant came from Sam Tsui who got it originally from the Orchid zone. Don't think there was much variation in color among those I've seen. The original label is marked Z-6792.

Definitely not haven x smokin after checking photos of that actual cross on the net. I guess my new label will have to be "NOID peachy bess from OZ".
