Hi!

This Phrag is one that I purchased from OrchidBabies a few months ago. This is the first time blooming for me. The hybrid is Phrag. Cahaba Sangre, which is Phrag. Inca Fire 'ORCHIDbabies' AM/AOS x Phrag. Sunset Glow 'Twilight' 4N AM/AOS. Quite honestly, I was expecting a blood red flower given its parentage. But I'm happy with it all the same. The first flower has a NS of 3-3/8 inches.

It's still in the original mix from OrchidBabies. It's a mix of fir bark, hydroton, and a little perlite.

Nice one Nik, in all likelyhood, somewhere on either pod or pollen parent side, or on both sides there are one or more besseae flavum. Nice flower none the less. Look like it is over 10 cm. natural spread.

Love the pouch.. and it's holding two flowers on it's first flowering.. sounds promissing for the next time...
Maybe the color is due to the weather in yur area?
