I just bought this plant from Sue in Bristol, who bought it at Boa Vista Orchids in Madeira. They would have brought it there from Wyld Court Orchids, which grew out of the collection of Sir William Cooke in Berkshire in the 1920's. This is a massive plant as you can see. Malcolm Perry reckons it could easily be a survivor from before WWI.







 
You would need volunteers come repotting time just to lift it! Such a great piece of history :)
 
Lol... come spring time, you could be looking forward to a mighty transplant to a bigger pot, a beautiful specimen!!!!
