Here is our Phrag. Cardinale 'Midvale Regina' which received a 3rd place ribbon at the MOS show this past weekend. It lost 2 flowers in transit to the show, so this isn't the best showing for the plant. It also has two spikes coming on it, so it will be showier in the near future.

Congrats on the award. Sorry I didn't get to meet you.

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you as well! Unfortunately, my business is open on Saturdays so I didn't get to the show until it was time to tear down on Sunday. :(

But, it was still fun and I got a chance to meet Likespaphs. We should have an Northeast Slippertalk members Party at Christmas... maybe at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens...

Had to look it up:

Phrag Cardinale (schlimii x Sedenii) by Veitch in 1882; Sedenii (longifolium x schlimii) by Veitch in 1873.

Is Phrag Cardinale difficult to grow ?

Charlie

I don't think so... grow it the same way I grow all of my phrags... WET! I water every day, west side of my greenhouse, intermediate temps.

I fertilize weakly every other day followed 1-2 hours later by a thorough flushing of the medium.

...glue gun those bloom back on for photographs if still look good :)

Anyway beautiful blooms and healthy plant there!
That's right or super glue to the rescue!
I got a Cardinale a couple years ago, it was hard to resist!
