In Petlands I would look for...?

You might look at some of the Cal/Mag supplements in various garden supply.

I found one on a turf grass specialty website that had Cal/Mag in some kind of sulfono-organic base.

I can't recall who was using a 3 part hydroponic based system, but when I looked it up on the web, one of the parts was a Cal/Mag supplement.

Finally you should try googling calcium nitrate (someone else on another thread did this) and found a cheap and easy internet source.

Eric,

Scientific supply places supply very pure chemicals and charge an arm and a leg neither of which I have to spare. I buy calcium nitrate at a hydroponics store and it is inexpensive (I can't remember exact cost). It is hydroscopic absorbing moisture from the air turning into a slush fairly quickly. I store mine in a tightly closed container in the freezer. Magnesium sulphate is epson salts and available at drugs store, also inexpensive. Unless you are using all the fertilizer mixture right away, I would mix and apply each (calcium, magnesium, fertilizer) separately to avoid precipitation of some of the nutrients.

Ray sells CaNO3. I have to by more though...my bag turned into a solid lump. Yes, it is very hygrosopic!
