Phrag Mont Remon

At last, Phrag Mont Remon has opened his first bud.
It opened a rich 'satin' red, but has faded to a slightly more orangey shade during the first 24 hrs. The flower is approx 4 inches wide from tip to tip, and looks as if it might possibly open a little wider.
The 2nd bud is already clearly visible.
Anyway, here he is....

Thank you everyone. I'm delighted with my first ever Phrag - but have learned a lesson about checking out the parents AND grandparents before buying. This is not really a windowsill orchid, & size does matter when space is limited!

Can you please enlighten me? I've noticed tessellations on the dorsal sepal, and also in some of the photos I've seen on here. Is this feature common to all Phrags? Thank you.
