Actually the light color on the lateral sepals is white. There is no pubescence in those light areas, which is why I'm hoping it is a pearcei hybrid.

Sorry Eric! I don’t think so either! Look like a straight MDC using besseae flavum

My first guess would be MDC as well. Could be the hybrid, just very heavily favoring the MDC parent. Sometimes when you make a cross you end up selfing the plant not making a hybrid - so even if it was attempted, if MDC is the pod parent it seems likely it was a selfing. Would be hard to know there was a mistake until after you bloomed out a fair number of the seedlings.

I covet the yellow besseae in the corner though... I need a new one for breeding.
