Obviously not true! :poke:

(((Eric, have you been peeking in my windows??? :poke:)))

Well....I think I'll be able to add another light bar on the bottom-most shelf of my rack, once the dining room cabinets are done being installed. I currently have a bunch of cache pots on that shelf and will relocate them to the cabinets. Trouble is, it really is difficult for me to reach that shelf, since it's only just an inch or two above the floor. AND I had figured the masdies would like it there, since it's colder than the upper shelves. But I'm starting to give away my masdies...so...

Perhaps it could work for phrags? I'm worried it might be too cool there for them.

What's the day & night temps at that shelf?

I need to get a min/max thermometer to get night temps. Last winter I took temp readings on the bottom shelf to the left of the one in question during the day, and it was in the upper 50s. My winter rest dendrobiums seemed to really love it there.

I think it would be too cool for the phrags there...what do you think??

If daytime temps don't go above 60, I'd be concerned for just about any orchid. Maybe Neos would be OK there, and Masdies and related. But if you have fluorescent lights for that shelf, I'd be surprised if it didn't get above 60.
