Purchased with this tag as a division with a single, small fan. Grew this second (now blooming) fan in about a year. I like the curly edges, but I had thought schroderae had longer petals? Still pretty, even without long petals, of courses!

I would assume this is Phrag. Sendenii and a quick trip to the search engine suggests that there's a "roseum" variety of that hybrid. Certainly the flower looks like what I'd expect from a Phrag. Sendenii or similar hybrid.

There's pretty much no chance it's 50% caudatum. So, I don't believe this is Phrag. Schroederae.

I bet thirty cents someone was having a memory lapse and accidentally conflated the name of these two very famous "S" hybrids while reading or writing the label at some point.

I’d be perfectly happy with that!
Seems like a fast growing guy, for sure! From starting a fan to blooming a fan in a year is a nice rate. I dont have him in a clear pot (yet) but he has a lot of roots trying to come up to the surface so I am guessing there is a lot of root growth that I cant see. Fingers crossed, anyway.

That seems very plausible! More so than, like you said, that this guy is 50% caudatum 😉

For me this not a Phrag. Sedenii but a Phrag. Calurum ( Phrag longifolium x Phrag Sedenii) . Phrag Sedenii has more of the characteristics of Phrag. schlimii. I'll post a photo of my Sedenii tomorrow.

they all are variable,
so three examples of Schroedere, Calurum and Sedenii

Very interesting…the pic I posted above was before the bloom fully matured and it did change appearance just a bit more. The first bloom (the one in the picture) just dropped off today and the second is barely open so it will be a while before I can get a fully mature bloom pic. I will post it when I do.
