I reached out to Marilyn at Windy Hill with a request for anything close to white and received this plant earlier this year. First bloom.

(Czerwiakowianum ‘Windy Hill’ x schlimii ‘Elizabeth’)

Pretty and it looks like a fairly small growing plant.

What's the appeal of white Phrag flowers for you? Is it the rarity or just a favorite flower color?

It is rather small which is nice- I guess because of the schlimii parent.

I’m actually not a fan of solid white flowers, e.g. Paph delenatii alba, but I really like the very pale phrags that border on white and have a hint of pink or green. They seem to almost glow and the intricacies of their shapes are highlighted by the shadows that are more pronounced due to them being so pale . I am also fond of white and green or white and yellow Paphs, frequently preferring them over their counterparts with color. Not sure why- partially because of the rarity but also because I frequently find them more striking in appearance.

Nice. Thanks for sharing. There are whiter Phrags on this site.
Which phrag do you consider the whitest? I guess I should have clarified that I was thinking of long-petaled when I made my remark.

I have a Polar Shift ‘Ghostwriter’ and a ‘Shoshone River’ from Bob that seem to be doing well but they are on the small side and haven’t bloomed yet. I’m curious to see how their blooms compare with this one. Polar Shift appears to be just green and white.

I don't really do long petal Phrags. Saint Ouen, Ice Princess is one of the closest to album I have seen. I gave a bunch of light ones in my Miscellaneous Stuff thread.
