One interesting avenue of breeding with long fma album we pursued was to cross it with besseae fma flavum to remake Eric Young; the thinking being that it may be a quick way to develop a line of pure yellow besseae hybrids. Not entirely sure whether this is possible, but I thought it was worth a try. I think it'l be 12-18 months before the first seedlings bloom.

Duane - I don't think Ecuagenera has any long fma album seedlings, but I may be wrong. You might find out while you're down there and let us (ST) know, because there's definitely a demand for them.

Thanks,
They tell me that they will have some in flask soon, but that they don't have them yet. It's a lovely plant!
Nice to hear from you!

Sorry Eric, I was thread-jumping and lost my place. As far as breeding w andreetae, we've remade Petite Queillette using besseae flavum and will have flasks in 90 days, and we've selfed andreetae as well to produce some lower priced seedlings. Some things are just worth growing for what they are - a rare and endangered species from a beautiful part of the world. Here's a photo of one without flower damage. Petal stance in this species appears to be quite variable.

Tom, that's really pretty. There are some advantages to not growing outside!
