from friend ( lLima )

from Peru typ : plant grows compact never makes stylones when growing

from Ecuador typ : plant always makes stylones when growing

Both are very nice but the word is not stylone but stolon with stolons for plural.

I'll take any good besseae, stolons or not. It's a little difficult to compare because of the difference in the exposures in the photos but the "Ecuadorean type" looks exactly like the flowers we saw in Ecuador last year ... lovely colour and beautiful balanced, symmetrical flowers.

Your friend from Lima is most likely in Germany, there is a micranthum I know extremely well on the right of the first photo...

hahaha....i also noticed it....no way to be wrong with that one...:rollhappy:

ok, now I will expose my "ignorance" :) independently whether Hakone is placing himself in a ridiculous situation or not.. I have a question:

ok, first WOW! I must admit that as an amateur in paphios I admire when someone can recognize a especies and a particular plant this way..

now, could you please expand on this micranthum, and why it is so particular that can be identified only with the leave? (maybe I am blaming myself, but I see nothing else than leave in the pic:eek:)... just curiosity about the plant and the way to recognize it... you just made me curious! :)

Thanks in advance!

Xavier, you keep raising my eyebrows with some of the statements you make here. As Ramon allready said please explain. :)
