Grand Chupacabra
My quick search suggests this hybrid has not been registered. I purchased this plant from Carter and Holmes probably 8+ years ago. It's been a somewhat reliable bloomer, but it has taken a year off here and there. It's a somewhat slow grower, but quite easy in my conditions compared to any of the long petaled species that tend to be a little problematic for me.
With four flowers per spike, I think it puts on a great show. The petals are around 15.5 inches long (40 cm). I like that this Phrag and similar species/hybrids open all their flowers at once instead of sequentially. It's stunning.
This is a fairly compact grower on top of that. Even in a tall Cymbidium pot, I can keep it under the standard growing shelves when it is not in bloom.
