I agree with NYEric; this one is probably not true d'alessandroi. IMO - It may be Phrag. Jersey (besseae x d'alessandroi). There were seedlings that may have originated at the Orchid Zone around 2002 or 2003 that were labelled Z-5495 "Phrag. Dealesandro (sib) ('Echo' x 'Doug Pulley')" that look similar to ericst11's in terms of flower form, that may be Phrag. Jersey.

Here's a photo taken last year of the original Phrag. d'alessandroi 'Fox Valley' CHM/AOS used in our breeding program. The authenticity of this clone was confirmed by Cal Dodson, the species' discoverer prior to it's CHM/AOS award. It bears a close resemblance to Dot's plant, which is also the true species but ,not surprisingly, the photo quality is not as good as Dot's:eek:.

Dot, on the one you posted in 2010 the shape and droop of the petals, plus the yellow flame are consistent with the form. Did that one ever branch and how's the plant growth habit?
Unfortunately it died right after it bloomed. Lesson learned -- take off the spike on a seedling. Fortunately, I was able to get three more from Tom, and they are growing nicely.
