So, This is a plant that I purchased from Jeff Morris at the Paph Forum several weeks ago...in spike but small bud.....
finally opened up a few days ago and has been growing since...
Now, it is about 13.5 cm across, and the second pic shows how flat it "still" is...
Love the color on this one....
came from OZ breeding (before Terry got out) really great color compared to other sibs and holding it too....

Makes you want to own one of these....
Hey, VOS show is THIS weekend. TONIGHT is the deadline to get plants to be entered in for registration (actually 10:00 am tomorrow morning.) to be AOS judged. You are in Richmond, so would just have to get the plant to Lewis Ginter's Conservatory by Thursday at 11:00 am (and pick it up Sunday between 4 and 5pm), but it must be registered by 10:00 am tomorrow! I can send you the map of where to take it if you PM me. If you are not a member of Virginia Orchid Society (you should be!), it's okay, you can be a "friend" of the society by the by-laws and exhibit. Send the plant info to Ron at [email protected].
Taking it to the show sure beats driving all the way north, past Baltimore, to get it judged at the once a month AOS judging. And who knows, it could bloom out by the next one! I look forward to meeting you there this weekend. I'll be at the greeters table in the Auditorium (where the vendors are) most days and at set up on Thursday. Deborah Fox is my real name. Can't wait to see this beauty in person!!!

clearsky57, thank you sooo much for posting this photo. One of
my lost or switched tag Phrags. just opened fully and it is a
Fritz (3N) that is a twin to your photo bought from a member of this forum a couple of years go. It is a beauty!

I have to be honest, with a drop dead gorgeous flower like that, it should go in to judging. A small blemish like that is at most, a 2 point deduction for me. At most!!! But I am looking at a possible FCC without it. That flower is that impressive. I am thinking 85, maybe 86, 87 points. But if it measures up to recent AM’s size wise, it could eventually get the FCC.
There is so much to learn by taking it in as is, to see where it scores knowing without the imperfection, it could be an FCC.
Never hesitate. Never hold off. I have had two of my own HCC’s die on me waiting to go back for an AM. That hurts a whole lot more then an 85 point AM with a blemish,
GOOD LUCK
Counterpoint: It hurts WAY more to miss an FCC by one or two points because you couldn't wait for a flower without a blemish! 😅

Hey, I hear you got it to VOS show for judging and walked away with an AM (83 pts if I remember correctly from Garland). Pretty amazing and in the nick of time as the flower dropped just before he picked it up the next day. It was meant to be!! Congratulations!!!
