This is a first blooming on a plant from J-P Faust. The cross is Phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice "R.F." x warcewiczianum.

I love the deep slightly reddish colour, but I wish that the dorsal held itself taller. The photo is one of the flowers at its optimal angle. But there will be true winners within his batch of plants of this cross!

the plant is large, but it is a single growth. It is approx. 2 feet across (hard to say because this number would change depending on how far you want to stretch the leaves). you will know its close to blooming size when it starts sending larger leaves that are around 2 inches across and longer.
But it seems that different plants from J-P vary, because I have had expected large plants (based on breeding) bloom on small single growths

BTW the back of the dorsal is very dark, and if there is back lighting the bronze colours show through the dorsal. No back lighting here because of the black background
