Found this in bloom when I retuned from my holidays. The first three buds blasted but there are three more which look OK. This is a second blooming.

Interesting one and quite pretty. I especially like the well colored pouch.

Had to look it up:

Phrag Michel Tremblay (Phrag Hanne Popow x Phrag fischeri).

And Hanne Popow (besseae x schlimii). I am new to phrags, and have read previous posts ie Hanne Popow's stoloniferous habit.

Could some one please explain further this 'stoloniferous habit' ?

Is it a trait also seen in Phrag Michel Tremblay??

Thanks - Charlie

If I'm explaining it right, stoloniferous habit refers to the new growth, and how far away from the main growth it is. besseae tends to send long runners up in the air, and tends to pass this trait along to it's hybrids. Not sure about Michel Trembley.

Another description commonly used is it's a climber or climbs out of the pot.
