Is is normal for Mini Grande to be multifloral as opposed to sequential? Well mine had three buds and all are open at the same time...makes for an impressive display!
Has that happened again, Dot? There are always exceptions of course; but, it would be nice to use a plant that regularly holds 4 flowers to make hybrids. I have a Dominianum that held 4 flowers all at once; but, that was many years ago (before digital cameras) and it's never done that again; although, it does hold 3 for a short time on each spike. My Grande had 4 flowers open at one time a few years ago, but usually these (Grande family) have only two or three open before, as John said, the older flower drops off.
