I use a modified Semi-Hydro technique (inspired by Ray), instead of expanded clay pellets I use Orchiata bark (medium) 2/3 and perlite or pumice 1/3. There are 2 holes drilled on the side of the pot around 1 inch from the bottom.
Watering a lot, 2-3 times a week, freely, the bark stay wet all the time (unless I go away, but I havent had any trouble even with no watering for up to 2 weeks). Fertilize with K-lite around 50ppmN, in alternance with Kelp fertilizer.
They are grown under T5 HO fluo lights in basement.
