Pop up on ST?

I just got a pop up (yes, I have the pop up blocker on) while reading posts called prizewinner something or other
that locked up my Mac. The pop up used the Safari logo
and I had to shut down in order to break the lock down.
Anybody else experience this?

That is most unusual. I've not experienced that on ST, but I did on another website. I had to do a force quite to get rid of it.

I've never seen one before either, but I did notify Apple.
It especially worried me that the pop up had the Safari
logo prominently displayed. Force quit didn't work and I
had to totally shut down and wait for about 15 minutes
to reboot. Tech support wants to know when these pop
ups happen Dot.

I've came across spammers on st and tried to email heather about it, and not go through, from the st site, I thought that was weird

Troy that has nothing to do with this - it's just that the address was probably incorrect. If you report posts correctly they come through just fine. Spammers are completely different from a pop up.

I've never had, nor heard of, a pop up on this site. We don't have any advertising. It's nothing on this end.

Apple got back to me on this pop up and it didn't have anything to
do with ST. I love my Mac. Apple got right on to the pop up and
traced it and squashed it.
