Made this cross a few years ago (2001---2002) and this is its 3rd flowering.
As it's a nice small plant,I will cross it with henryanum again this year.

It is an interesting cross. I would like to hear your thoughts on back crossing it to henryanum. What do you expect to see from this type of cross? I'm more of a multi type person, would entertain the idea of a back cross onto Primchild but that's just me. I would even go with another multi such as, lowii or haynaldianum trying to capture the pink spoons.

Really nice, well done

I'm with Rick, I'd cross it back to lowii or haynaldianum, that way you would keep the multi-floral character and still intensify the pink colors and the spots. Another thought would be to cross it to one of the cochlopetalums species or hybrids like moquettianum or liemianum. This would also help keep the pink colors and retain the multifloral trait.

Much brighter and dynamic than I would have expected.

Not sure if you kept the pollen, but if you were going to try use it for further breeding, I would cross it against another multi-floral hybrid with lowii or haynaldianum in the background (i.e Julius, Jerry Spence, etc.).

Alternatively, another possibility is using a brachy parent such as bellatulum, which would wind up being a larger and better version of Paph Governor Patrick Henry. Or speaking of bigger and better versions, crossing it with suhakulii would be a better version of Paph Graham Robertson.

Before I opened this post, I went to open a beer and try and visualize the outcome. At least I got the beer right, my mental picture of this was way off! It is way nicer than I had imagined. There is enough pollen there to go a multitude of routes. Go for it!

Very surprising outcome. The flower is lovely! But why cross back to henryanum? I would think what was needed was more of the roth influence? Why not cross back to Primechild or to a sibling? I would like to understand the rationale as well as what the goal is.
