Here's my purpuratum in flower. The flower has been in bloom for over 10 days now, and this picture was taken on the 10th day.

I got one years ago and it died after it bloomed.. hopefully I have better luck with this one! This plant has 5 growths (2 in bloom, 2 mid-size new growths, 1 near blooming size bloom which fell off a few months when I was repotting).

Oh, great looking blooms, and it sounds as though the plant is happy, based on what you say in your description. Nice growing & blooming, Jorch!

Very beautiful flowering. I have also one but it seems to me that it is not a fast grower. In which range of temperature do cultivate it? Many thanks in advance for the infos.

I really like the colors and veining on these. A newbie question here, Is it common for the dorsal to curl like these ? Is it possible to find a variety with a flatter dorsal ??

The dorsal curl is the dominate feature to this species. If you see a pic of one without or very little curl it's either an inmature flower posted or contaminated gene pool!
