Rather large problem

Curently listening to Police and Fire service traffic on scanner and can see from my place the problem. There is a wild fire burning approx' 15 kms from me tht is currently at 4000 acres in size. Fortunately its burning in the opposite direction from my place but a wind change could alter everything. If I'm not on for a while you'll know why. Hopefully I will be here.

Thanks everyone. The fire is now controlled and current reports are that its burnt 1800+HA or 4500 acres of land. It burnt to within 30 feet (10mts) of a town just up the road. I'm happy to report there was no lost of houses or buildings, just a few fences. We had a big cool change (no rain) early morning which slowed it down enough to get a handle on the fire. Typing this I'm thinking we have another 2 or 3 maybe 4 months of this still to go. Its fun living in the country.

Good luck Roy. I remember well the fire season in Florida - March through May. It was always a nail biter especially when I lived on an 8 acre tract of forest out in the sticks.
