I like these 'tiger orchids' very much and grow the true Rossioglossum grande as well as the hybrid Rossioglossum 'Rawdon Jester'. They are easy to grow, spend te months April - October outside at a protected place and flower regularely. The only reliable trait to disstinguish one from the other is the shape of the column lobes.
This is the true Rossioglossum grande.

It's always a nice species! It was one of my very first species back then.

Thank you for sharing, these are lovely plants! Where did you find the true Rossioglossum grande?

Best,

I have had the hybrid Rawdon Jester for several years. I live in Texas. It does not enjoy the Texas heat. So, I raise it is an area of my greenhouse cooled with a small AC unit, where I grow my kovachii and it's hybrids. My RJ does very well and blooms regularly.
