Honestly, it's STILL not fully recovered from whatever made it melt right after shipping 4 years ago. One day it'll drop the other shoe. Still, quite a thing. Pouch color improved quite a bit, though.

It’s amazing how they can carry trauma, just like us. Love to see the whole plant. I think this is quite a flower!Honestly, it's STILL not fully recovered from whatever made it melt right after shipping 4 years ago. One day it'll drop the other shoe. Still, quite a thing. Sunlight nursery does us no favors with naming lolThis is a 'Sunlight Giant' x 'Kuang Hua Village'. The name came from my friend saying it looks like pelicans in flight.
It's about 3ft wide. Still a tiny thing, but, I'm done waiting around to set pods. Chances are, it won't bloom to potential in my lifetime. Of course, chances are I won't live to see the offspring bloom, either, but whatever. (I made roth x true adductum @Tony)Nice. Show us the plant please.
For the last time, I do not want your left nut, I want platyphyllum pollen! LolYou want that left nut shaved or au naturel?
I have platyphyllum pollen...For the last time, I do not want your left nut, I want platyphyllum pollen! Lol
The downsweptness annoys the heck out of me, actually. It was much less so on the first bloom. If the petals were held at an angle of 12-15° instead of almost 30°, these would be 30cm flowers.
Post the Photo (and parentage if you know it) of Kuang Hua Village please! I've never seen it. Here is Sunlight Giant and if memory serves it's Val x Mt Millais: View attachment 52847
Now he tells me lolI have platyphyllum pollen...![]()
My avatar picture was a true adductum that I got off an orchid zone seedling list in 2013. Literally blooming size adductum available on a seedling list I think they were $200. You would have been doing some serious self harm. The old OZ was a cool thingYou want that left nut shaved or au naturel?
